Sify does not disappoint students

CHENNAI: Students who tried to log on to the Internet for results in several of the portals were disappointed in the first hour after the release of the results.

Many of the portals did not open up even after 11 a.m. The only one which kept up and running during the peak traffic period was the Sify.com's website http://results.sify.com.

Ajay Nambiar, head, consumer channel with sify.com, said the results were declared at 9-30 a.m. and the entire data was uploaded by 10-15 a.m., much ahead of many other sites.

An advanced database management application and deployment of multiple web servers in horizontal architecture to cater to the load, made the sify website easily accessible to thousands of users at the same time.
